There are certain movie franchises that have left fans with one simple question, a question that has in some cases caused debate for years after its release. Did the totem stop spinning in Inception? What did Bill Murray say to Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation? What was in the briefcase in Pulp Fiction?

Among these, and arguably toward the top of the list, revolves around Blade Runner. Was Harrison Ford's Deckard a replicant or not? The first movie made sure not to give audiences a definitive answer, a strategy that was also taken by the sequel 35 years later.

There are theories certainly, surrounding the unicorn, but the internet is still alive with debate in spite of the fact that Ridley Scott has outright answered the question previously. Much like the winner of the Rocky/Creed decider, you could argue that the correct answer doesn't much matter, hence why such closure was never given, but the truth is that Deckard is and always has been a replicant.

The director of Blade Runner has confirmed this, killing the air of mystery that you otherwise just couldn't buy. Again, this feels like a question that shouldn't have an answer, but annoyingly does.
