10 Movie Mysteries With Annoyingly Simple Answers

1. Who Killed Duke? - Glass Onion

Rian Johnson had some big shoes to fill when it came to Glass Onion. The writer/director's first Benoit Blanc mystery was a huge success, and with such success came lofty expectations for any sequels that followed.

There were plenty of mysteries that Blanc needed to solve throughout Glass Onion, one of them revolving around the death of Duke. It seemed as though the target was Miles Bron, though his gun-toting friend bought the metaphorical bullet instead, but who was the one who killed Dave Bautista's character?

The answer infuriated Blanc because it was so dumb. Miles Bron was an idiot, and the only semi-intelligent thing he did all movie he stole directly from the detective himself. However, Duke's death was simple. After he drank from Miles' drink, which contained the pineapple juice he was so deathly allergic to, it was assumed that Miles' drink was poisoned and that the billionaire was the target.

Miles basically told everyone that Duke drank from the wrong glass, but in reality, he handed him the glass knowing the liquid inside would kill him. Everyone just went along with his story, never once questioning his version of events. It was simple, annoyingly so, but it worked within the realms of the story because it was supposed to be simple.
