10 Movie Names With Absolutely Arbitrary Subtitles

1. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa

Madagascar Escape 2 Africa Logo 1680x1050 Alright, so I have a homework assignment for DreamWorks. I want them to go to a library, globe, or even Google Earth, and I want the people in charge at the studio to look up the geographical location of Madagascar. And once they have done that, I want them to realize what continent Madagascar is located on - Africa! And here's why Madagascar 2 is on this list, then, with what probably can be considered not only the most arbitrary subtitle in cinema history, but also the most idiotic. One cannot simple escape to Africa, given that - wait for it - they are already there. To be honest with you readers, it blows my mind that no one caught this. It is just such a stupid mistake. The plot involves the characters escaping Madagascar (which is in Africa) to get back to New York (which is in North America - another problem altogether with the title), but they end up accidently arriving in mainland Africa (which I don't think I need to point out is part of the continent of Africa). There are just so many things wrong with the title. It's so horribly useless and broken. And the worst part is that the film gets away with it possibly because it's a kids film. But people should care about this sort of thing, because it's so factually incorrect. I mean, we wouldn't give a Captain America movie the subtitle 'International Vacation to Washington D.C., would we? Would we? Like this list? Let us know in the comments section below.
