10 Movie Passion Projects That Will Never Get Made
7. David Lynch's Ronnie Rocket
Fans are excited about the enigmatic David Lynch returning to his cult nineties TV show Twin Peaks for two reasons. One, they might finally get answers to the various unsolved mysteries of the singularly eccentric logging community left dangling after the untimely cancellation of the series; two, Lynch hasn't been behind a camera properly since 2006's Inland Empire. Currently pushing seventy, with a steady diet of coffee and cigarettes and an interest more in making music than films nowadays, it's unlikely Ronnie Rocket is ever going to get made. That's despite it apparently being on Lynch's to-do list for decades, originally coming to mind after his 1977 debut Eraserhead. Slightly different from his usual surreal, nightmarish parables, the eponymous character was to be a three-foot tall man with control over electricity, with Twin Peaks' Man From Another Place playing the part. He couldn't get funding, although he apparently tried between each of his produced films.
