10 Movie Performances That Proved People Wrong

1. Bruce Willis - Die Hard

Brace yourselves for this, but there was once a moment in time when Bruce Willis being cast in an action movie was seen as something of a risk. Fancy that.

Having only really been known for his time spent on comedy TV show Moonlighting up until that point, when Willis' face popped up on screen during certain trailers for the incoming action thriller by the name of Die Hard, regular fits of laughter and booing were said to have broke out in cinema theatres.

The studio were so panicked by this negative response toward Willis in the leading role that they completely removed their last resort main man from the film's promotional poster, putting Nakatomi Plaza front and centre and making the star's credit all-but disappear.

Yet, once the film went on to become a box office smash hit and the actor almost single-handedly changed the way Hollywood viewed its action stars on the back of his fierce-yet-hilarious everyman turn, Willis was eventually reinstated to the feature's poster and a new cinematic megastar was born.

He may have once been the butt of the joke, but Willis eventually got the last laugh when all was said and done.
