For the longest time, those brought up on the James Bond franchise had become accustomed to seeing their 007 sporting dark locks and towering over the average Joe. That all changed the minute Daniel Craig was brought on board as the new Bond back in 2005, and it's fair to say that many a fanatic of the Ian Fleming adaptations weren't best pleased by the news.

In short, Craig was just that. He also came equipped with a head of glorious blonde hair. Strike two, Mr. Bond. And... that was about it, really. Aside from these apparent issues, Craig was a more than capable talent and had shown off his leading man potential already in 2004's Layer Cake.

Those who had already worn the shoes of the famous agent before him sensed the many calling for Craig to be culled from Casino Royale early would be made to eat their words eventually, and that's precisely what happened.

Craig's first appearance as Bond was soon met with universal acclaim and all talk of boycotting the movie was swiftly forgotten, with the British sensation going on to infuse a new, much-needed grittier edge into a character that had grown pretty stale.
