10 Movie Plots Made Possible By Ridiculous Convenience
1. Superman: Kryptonians Are Basically Humans
Probably the most convenient occurrence in cinema history centres on one of film's greatest heroes: Superman. The Man of Steel is instantly recognisable around the world but there's every chance that might not have been had his creators gone down a more familiar alien route.
Basically, in films and comics etc, aliens are usually a different colour or build or something to humans. Take the Green Lantern Corp as an example: the human Green Lantern is usually the only one who looks human - it makes sense really given the conditions on other planets even within our own galaxy that would require different genetic make up for life to survive.
Now picture the scene that Kryptonians, who obviously live with greatly increased gravity, look identical to human beings in every way and speak English instead of some Kryptonian language. Surely, something would be different!
Even worse? Kryptonian genitalia are perfectly compatible with human genitals.
For the sake of convenience, and ease of drawing probably, Kryptonians are basically humans and could walk among us, if you believe the movies that is...
