10 Movie Post-Credit Scenes That Went Absolutely Nowhere

2. More Infection - Slither

The Scene

The end of James Gunn's excellent and under-appreciated horror Slither sees the few survivors - led by Nathan Fillion's Sheriff Bill Pardy - see off the monster by filling him with propane and exploding him, at which point all of the infected victims die. Everyone lives happily ever after, despite some injuries and the credits roll.

But then, when the post-credits comes around, we see a cat walk up to a piece of exploded monster and lick the gore. The scene fades to black, but we hear the sound of the cat being attacked and presumably infected.

What It Teased

A sequel, since the infection clearly wasn't as dealt with as the survivors believed.

But...

There would be no sequel as the film made no money, with Universal distancing itself from the poor performance by blaming Gold Circle Films. And not only did it kill any possible franchise, it also basically killed horror comedy too.
