8. Spoof Movie Posters
Spoof movie posters genuinely do all look the same. Usually, it includes everyone in the film in a huge crowd... that's it. The whole spoof movie trend began with Scary Movie - which was really funny! Its sequel was pretty good too but after that everything went downhill for the whole spoof trend. The idea was to show the audience what exactly will be included in the film, all of the characters and the pop culture references - which is pretty much the only kind of jokes included in these films (look, we have a guy dressed up as Lady Gaga - get it?). The posters all look the same and the last few spoof movies have failed at the box office. The past few years have been kind of spoof-free so it seemed like this poster cliche had indeed died. However, if you are a fan of these films fear not, Scary Movie 5 is due out this year - they have yet to release a proper poster for it but it seems like the genre may not be dead which means the poster cliche may not be either.
