Okay, this is probably one of the less extreme "pranks gone wrong" moments in film but we still felt like this list wouldn't be complete without it. In case you didn't know, The Social Network tells the tale of a young Mark Zuckerberg (played by Jesse Eisenberg) and his journey to create the social networking giant known as Facebook. The movie opens with 19-year old Zuckerberg getting dumped by his girlfriend Erica at a local Harvard University pub. Distraught and slightly intoxicated, he heads back to his dorm to do the only rational thing any of us would do... blog. Zuckerberg insults Erica on his LiveJournal blog and creates an on-campus website called Facemash, which allows users to rate the attractiveness of female students and uses pilfered photographs. In order to get the photos of all the students he hacks into Harvard's network (and ultimately causes it to crash). Zuckerburg ultimately receives six months of academic probation when the school finds out what he did. The popularity of the temporary website causes a chain of events that ultimately lead to the creation of Facebook. So basically; a temporary inconvenience for Zuckerberg leads to the ultimate convenience for us all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSKoVsHs_Ko
