6. Robert De Niro - The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle (2000)

Like many on this list, Robert De Niro is considered to be one of the greatest actors of all time, and a frontrunner for "best at playing characters who have gone slightly insane." Playing so many deviants and delinquents apparently had an effect on the Oscar-winning actor at the turn of the century, though, given that he agreed to play Fearless Leader in
The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle, a movie so bad that people actually forget to talk about it when discussing bad movies. So, what's the deal here, Robert De Niro? You hadn't gone
that far down the pan when you decided you wanted to be in this movie - you were only a couple of years off of
Jackie Brown and
Ronin. People still thought your were great. What gives? What "gave," apparently, was the fact that De Niro obviously wanted to take the chance to do something unlike he had ever done, but fans of the actor mostly spent the sum of this movie doing constant double-takes. Oh, and the meta-moments where De Niro references his other, better movies were cringeworthy.
