10 Movie Scenes Actors Were Hidden In

These actors were hidden in plain sight.

Generally speaking, if filmmakers are able to secure the services of a major, well-known actor, they want to make that fact as abundantly clear as possible for marketing purposes.

But sometimes, for one reason or another, they might decide to conceal said actor's role enough that the vast majority of viewers don't even notice them.

This might be because the actor in question wants to have some fun and effectively prank the audience by hiding in plain sight, or because the actor's presence might otherwise prove too distracting.

Whatever the reason, these 10 movie scenes all ingeniously hid name actors right in front of our very eyes, and yet unless you're extremely eagle-eyed, there's virtually no chance you'd notice on your own.

Hell, in a few cases the actors in question already had a major starring role in the movie, but then decided to take up a secret second part, lingering around in the periphery for their own apparent amusement.

If you did manage to spot any of these secret appearances yourself, then incredibly well done, but like the rest of us, you probably had no idea until somebody else pointed it out...

10. Tom Cruise - Young Guns

The Nice Guys
Fox

Sometimes secret cameos are the result of months and months of planning and negotiations, and sometimes they happen totally off-the-cuff at the last minute by pure happenstance.

The latter is true of Tom Cruise's hilariously sneaky appearance in Western action flick Young Guns, where he shows up underneath some rootin' tootin' makeup as one of villain Lawrence Murphy's (Jack Palance) henchmen.

In the film's climax, Cruise can be briefly seen getting blown away by Charlie Bowdre (Casey Siemaszko), yet the shots of his face are so often concealed by both gunsmoke and the actor's glued-on facial hair that it's extremely difficult to spot him.

As for how the cameo came about? Cruise was simply visiting friends on the movie's set, when director Christopher Cain decided it'd be fun to offer him a small part in the finale, which he accepted.

And yet, no matter how many times we've all seen this movie, have you ever spotted Tom freakin' Crusie getting ventilated in the climactic shootout?
