10 Movie Secrets Never Meant To Be Found
9. The Secret "Sex Scene" - Harry Potter & The Prisoner Of Azkaban
Far more so than violence, the one thing you really should avoid putting in a kids' film is anything sexual, lest you feel the wrath of an army of unimpressed parents.
But that didn't stop Alfonso Cuarón - or rather, one of his title designers - sneaking a "sex scene" of sorts into the third Harry Potter movie, The Prisoner of Azkaban.
In the film's end credits sequence, the Marauder's Map shows two pairs of strategically placed feet, appearing to suggest that two Hogwarts students are engaged in some over-amorous activity.
An interview with credits designer Rus Wetherell revealed that he originally placed the suggestive feet in the credits as a placeholder gag when he was bored, and ultimately intended it more as a cheeky "behind the bike shed" moment. But of course, attentive fans who noted the feet had a less-innocent interpretation.
Though Wetherell planned to remove the feet for the final film, the joke amused director Cuarón enough that he insisted it remain in the final cut as a tongue-in-cheek gag for parents.
And so a quick visual joke created by a tired, overworked title designer for his own eyes only became a small but indelible moment of Potter lore.
