10 Movie Secrets Never Meant To Be Found

It's safe to say that artists could've never anticipated how extensively the home video market would evolve since its inception in the 1970s.

As such, when bored or possibly disgruntled animators included naughty gags in the movies they were working on, they never expected that fans would be able to obsess over their work frame-by-frame, thereby uncovering the mischief.

Case in point, 1977's Disney animation The Rescuers features two frames where a topless woman is visible in a window, and though this was included in the movie's original theatrical release, it passed by so quickly that not a single person reported it.

The first VHS release was struck from a different print so didn't include the offending frames, yet when The Rescuers received its second VHS release in 1999, a theatrical print was used, resulting in the nudity being discovered.

Disney responded by recalling 3.4 million affected VHS copies of the movie, in turn drawing further attention to a problem that, honestly, most had no idea about.

Though the nudity has naturally been absent from every subsequent release of the film, that didn't stop an enterprising fan from restoring the nudity from a 35mm print of the movie (pictured above). That's...dedication.
