10 Movie Sequels Nobody Asked For

6. Taken 2

6 Okay, so I know everyone kind of wanted a sequel to Taken, but then when we got it we all realised we didn't. Taken 2 is possibly the worst Luc Besson film of 2012 (yes, there was more than one), unless we're counting Lockout, which might just be the worst film of all time. On paper, Taken 2 sounds brilliant. Whilst on holiday in Istanbul, Liam Neeson and his wife are this time the ones who get kidnapped by the Albanians from the first film wanting revenge! However, Neeson being a hostage lasts about 10 minutes, and the rest of the film he spends killing people in different ways and running along rooftops, but somehow managing to not run into Daniel Craig. Again, this sounds like it should be brilliant. Except it's not, because all the violence and brutality from the original film has been removed to create a PG-13/12A rated version for the kiddies. Yep, no sticking battery poles into a person's legs and electrocuting them, or piping someone to death, it's all just toned down completely to bloodless gunfights. In fact, I'd say I've seen more violent episodes of the Simpsons, and that's saying something. There are a few elements of Taken 2 that are similar to the original though, such as terrible geography, flawed logic (involving grenades), a few interesting one liners, and of course Liam Neeson himself. Also, here's an interesting tidbit. The director is called Olivier Megaton. You read that right - Megaton.
