10 Movie Sequels That Keep Getting Teased (But Probably Won't Happen)
1. The Amazing Spider-man 3
One of the many highlights of Spider-Man: No Way Home was the return of Andrew Garfield's take on Peter Parker. He played brilliantly off of Tom Holland and Toby Maguire’s renditions of the character, and by the end, fans were left wanting more, even though the Marc Webb-directed Amazing Spider-Man movies were divisive during their day.
This led to outcry for The Amazing Spider-Man 3, a movie that would have come out in 2016 if it wasn’t for the second film’s mediocre critical and financial performance, which eventually led to the MCU’s reboot of the character.
With the right direction and creative freedom, there’s no doubt that Marc Webb could bring us a movie worthy of Garfield's acting talents and love of Spider-man. Sadly, Sony seems far more concerned with giving movies to Spider-man villains and B-list side characters, like the upcoming Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web films. Did they learn nothing from Morbius?
If Sony is able to shift focus towards what people actually want, rather than picking Spider-man adjacent characters out of a hat and giving them movies, then maybe Garfield’s Spidey could get a proper third outing. But Sony isn’t known for listening to fans.
