10 Movie Sequels That MOCKED What Fans Hated
5. It Chapter Two Mocked Stephen King's Terrible Endings
It Chapter Two didn't offer up any mockery of the previous film, though it did hilariously decide to throw some not-so-jokey criticism towards the novel's legendary author, Stephen King.
Numerous comments are made throughout the sequel suggesting that protagonist Bill (James McAvoy), an author, writes great books with bad endings, which is a criticism routinely levelled at King himself.
Hilariously, King even has a cameo in the movie and gamely agrees to poke fun at his penchant for underwhelming climaxes. When Bill offers to sign one of his books for King, who plays a pawn shop owner, King retorts, "Nah, I didn't like the ending."
In a delicious added blast of irony, the film itself was ultimately a fairly ho-hum sequel that couldn't make much sense out of the famously divisive finale to King's source material.
