10 Movie Sequels That MOCKED What Fans Hated
6. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Mocked Man Of Steel's Collateral Damage

Of the many, many reasons that fans disliked Man of Steel, one of the most prominent was the film's oddly aloof attitude to collateral damage.
The climactic battle between Superman (Henry Cavill) and Zod (Michael Shannon) clearly resulted in a sizable chunk of Metropolis being destroyed, and though we've never been given a death toll, a real-life consulting firm estimated that around 129,000 people were probably killed.
Many fans were dismayed that the Man of Steel didn't seem particularly concerned about minimising the carnage, especially with the lack of scenes depicting Supes saving people from death.
Intriguingly, the follow-up Batman v Superman decided to directly engage with this criticism, centering much of its narrative on the tide of public opinion turning against Superman following the Battle of Metropolis.
It's an interesting idea, albeit one clumsily handled and ultimately taken to the point of parody in the film's final battle, as Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman, and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) take on the monstrous behemoth Doomsday at the isolated Gotham port.
Numerous spoken references are made to the port being abandoned and no civilians being anywhere near the carnage, to the point where it feels like director Zack Snyder was not only mocking his own previous movie, but also thumbing his nose at the audience's hand-wringing.
After all, this is the same filmmaker who told fans that complained about Batman's murderous antics in the movie to "wake the f**k up," so make of it what you will.
