4. Brahms Was A Doll After All - Brahms: The Boy II

The horror genre is so saturated that it can be difficult for any one movie to stand out from the rest of the pack. A solid way of achieving such a feat is to have a genuinely surprising revelation, something truly shocking that no one could have seen coming.

The Boy had a great twist in 2016. After spending time in what seemed to be a house haunted by a doll, possibly possessed by the spirit of a young child, it turned out that the doll was just a doll, and the haunting was being done by Brahms (James Russell), that same young child now grown up and living within the house's walls.

However, there just had to be a sequel released, one that seemingly tried to one-up its predecessor in terms of shock value. This time, unfortunately, it missed the mark, mainly because it flew in the face of the original movie.

Brahms: The Boy II followed a new family living in the same house as before, and after finding the same doll, strange things started to happen. With Brahms killed in the original film this was going to take some explaining, and the sequel went the way of completely ignoring and contradicting the man in the walls, instead confirming that his namesake doll was actually sentient and evil after all.
