10 Movie Sequels That Totally Insulted Great Characters

8. Everyone Except Woody - Toy Story 4

The quirky ensemble cast of the first three Toy Story films fill out the experience. Rex and Hamm have great repartee, Mr. Potato Head is hilarious, and Slinkey's tight friendship with Woody is endearing. The Toy Story 2 additions, Jessie and Bullseye, are far from typical shark-jumping sequel characters, as they're great additions to the Toy Story ensemble.

However, Toy Story 4 sidelines these characters, in favour of Woody, Bo Peep, new character Forky, and a little bit of Buzz Lightyear.

The other toys act effectively as one entity and appear in only a handful of scenes. The characters are so interchangeable that they could swap dialogue and nothing would change. Despite being a reintroduction to the Toy Story universe, Toy Story 4 barely lets the audience say hello to the supporting cast.

The film feels like a Woody solo film, which downplays all his friends. While Woody dominates the early Toy Story films, and the fourth presents him as the only character who really matters.
