10 Movie Sequels That Were Sent Out To Die

1. Justice League

Fantastic Beasts Secrets Of Dumbledore
Warner Bros.

As Warner Bros. unfortunately had to learn the hard way, simply assembling your biggest hitters and throwing them at a movie screen isn't enough to guarantee you an out-and-out mega hit.

Not exactly aided by the departure of original director Zack Snyder in the wake of his daughter's tragic death in May 2017, crap had already started to hit the super-fan as the original vision for Justice League was drastically altered mid-production in response to negative reception towards Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Countless rewrites ensued and Avengers-helmer Joss Whedon was ultimately brought on board to supposedly salvage the project. As would later come to light, though, his presence only added to the issues surrounding the eventual ensemble dud, with the director's unsavoury behaviour on set being called into question by numerous cast members.

All in all, Warner Bros. were very much aware of the rushed and problematic feature's many issues but still refused to delay the project any further, reportedly not consenting to pushing the release date back due to not wanting to risk missing out on bonuses set to be paid to executives as part of their incoming AT&T merger before the film's scheduled debut.

Whatever way you slice it, this first Justice League stab had mess written all over it for an age.
