10 Movie Sequels That Will NEVER Be Made

1. A Fourth Dark Knight Movie

Between 2005 to 2012, the world fell in love with Batman again, thanks to the excellent work of Christopher Nolan, Christian Bale, and everyone else involved in the Dark Knight trilogy. Finally, something to wash out the taste of that god-awful George Clooney movie.

Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises brought some serious new attention to the Caped Crusader, with the middle portion of the tryptic still held up as a prime example of superhero cinema.

The final movie left things on a nice note, with Bruce enjoying retirement in Italy, but that hasn't stopped fans from theorising how he could return at some point. Well, stop it, because the chances of that happening are slim to none.

Warner Bros. actually offered Nolan the chance to make a fourth Batman film, but the British director declined. According to Bale, he told the producers "We have to stick to Chris’ dream, which was always to, hopefully, do a trilogy. Let’s not stretch too far and become overindulgent and go for a fourth."

It's now many years and at least two Bruce Waynes later, so it's safe to assume this particular Bat has been permanently grounded.
