10 Movie Sequels That Will NEVER Be Made
7. Mystery Team 2
Released in 2009, Mystery Team is a teen comedy film about a group of amateur detectives who take on a case far beyond their capabilities.
It wasn't a record-breaker or anything when it came out, but it got decent reviews and retains a strong underground following to this day. However, as a historical artefact, it's utterly fascinating.
Mystery Team was made by Derrick Comedy, an internet-based sketch troupe who were among the first to take advantage of the web to promote their stuff. The group was made up of director Dan Eckman and actors DC Pierson, Dominic Dierkes, and a young man by the name of Donald Glover.
You may have heard of him.
Not only did Mystery Team give a first big break to the future Childish Gambino, but it was also features the motion picture debuts of Ellie Kemper, Ben Schwartz, and Aubrey Plaza. In short, this film's cast is stacked.
A proper sequel to Mystery Team would require a lot of very famous people to give up their time and work on something that, in all honesty, probably wouldn't be worth it. This cult classic will likely stay just that.
