10 Movie Sequels You Didn't Realise Were Happening

Though the American Pie brand has continually spawned countless throwaway "Presents:" spin-offs over the years, with everything from Band Camp to The Naked Mile not exactly living long in the memory, the central OG characters' tale looked to have reached its natural and somewhat satisfying nostalgia-filled conclusion with 2012's Reunion.

But a decade on from the original series' final outing, it now looks as though the Pie is on the verge of being given an entirely new flavour, with it recently being announced that Definition Please filmmaker Sujata Day will be penning the next instalment of the franchise.

And while information on the plot of this latest Pie picture hasn't been revealed at time of writing, Day's original pitch and the story that was born out of it is being described by those in the know as a fresh take on the series.

With the previous films managing to rope in nearly $1 billion at the box office already, it's not too difficult to see why Universal 1440 Entertainment are so keen to stick this particular sex comedy treat back in the oven.

So, it'll be interesting to see how Day approaches a rather sensitive subject and genre of flick that likely needs a bit of an update and rethink before getting unleashed on a 2022 audience.
