10 Movie Spinoffs You Didn't Know Were Coming

Ferris Bueller's Day Off is one of the most beloved films of all time. The warm and light-hearted comedy depicting Matthew Broderick's titular character skipping school with his friend Cameron and girlfriend Sloan is a hilarious, goofy romp, the sort that one watches after a bad day when they're in need of a smile.

Tragically, the soulless powers-that-be have seen fit to contrive a spinoff to an entry regarded as sacred by film buffs, barring one rather disastrous television series adaptation. Remember the two idiot valets who take Cameron's father's Ferrari for a joyride? According to a report by Deadline, the plot of the new offering - reportedly being developed by the team who brought us Cobra Kai - revolves around their antics during said joyride, which apparently comprised enough material to envision a project tentatively titled Sam and Victor's Day Off.

The scene where the two gleefully soar through the air as the Star Wars theme plays triumphantly in the background is an iconic sequence within an already iconic film, but it's safe to say that nobody has ever asked for a more thorough examination of what the two got up to before and after their road trip. It feels wholly unnecessary, a perfect way to tarnish the reputation of a film adored by the masses for what feels like a sinister attempt at a cash grab.
