10 Movie Spoilers For 2019 That We Already Know

1. Adrian Mellon's Murder Will Be Included - It: Chapter Two

The much-anticipated second and concluding chapter in Andy Muschietti's It adaptation series recently started shooting, and it was just confirmed that it will be adapting one of the most controversial subplots from Stephen King's source novel.

With the announcement that French actor-filmmaker Xavier Dolan has been cast as Patrick Mellon, we know that the film will feature Mellon's harrowing death, which serves the dual purpose of reawakening Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård) and bringing the adult Losers back to Derry to confront him.

In the book, Mellon was a young gay man who is attacked by three homophobic teens one night, resulting in him being thrown off a bridge and devoured by a re-emerging Pennywise. Clearly that's going to get a graphic treatment in Muschietti's sequel, and most likely be the instigating, pre-title event that kicks the movie off.

Dolan's a terrific fit for a role like this, and considering that many fans expected the scene to be excluded from the screen adaptation, it's pretty exciting to hear that it made the cut.
