2. Cheetah Is Diana's Friend At First - Wonder Woman 1984

Patty Jenkins is currently deep into filming the highly anticipated superhero sequel Wonder Woman 1984, and while we know that Kristen Wiig will star as the movie's main villain, Barbara Ann Minerva aka Cheetah, until recently the character's precise nature was largely a mystery.

A report from the scoop-friendly Heroic Hollywood states that Barbara will in fact begin the movie as Diana Prince's (Gal Gadot) friend, staying in line with more modern comic interpretations of the character. After getting caught up in an ancient ritual which grants her superpowers in the vein of a Cheetah god, however, she attempts to imitate Wonder Woman's feats of superheroism.

Naturally, things don't go according to plan, and we can safely assume it all goes to Barbara's head, forcing Diana to take her down.

Cheetah's a tough villain to adapt on-screen without her being completely laughable, but at least we now have some inkling of the narrative and tonal through-line Minerva's descent into villainy will take.
