10 Movie Trailers Released BEFORE FX Was Added

1. Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker

Star Wars strikes again, this time with the trailer for the most recent entry into the movie franchise - The Rise of Skywalker.

Though the trailers for the climactic film in the Skywalker Saga were largely immaculate, fans did spot a shot which clearly hadn't been put fully through the post-production process.

When Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) are engaging in a lightsaber battle atop the ruins of the Death Star, it's clear that the surrounding aquatic environment has been rendered digitally, and the only significant practical elements of the scene are the two actors and the ruins set.

But if you look closely, you might also notice that Kylo Ren's cape doesn't appear in his reflection on the wet surface of the ruins, making it clear the cape was actually a digital creation.

Though it's possible this was actually an oversight rather than an effect that simply wasn't finished in time for the trailer, fans nevertheless enjoyed making light fun of it.
