10 Movie Trailers That Ruled 2014

7. Mad Max: Fury Road

Like the news of every movie remake out there, there were those who groaned and wondered why Hollywood was revisiting the Mad Max franchise, particularly with no Mel Gibson in the lead. Tom Hardy seemed like a good choice to take on the iconic role, but like Benedict Cumberbatch or Ryan Gosling, his name tends to crop up with every potential casting announcement. The trailer needed to show that it was worth doing a remake - and this first teaser certainly delivers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdLl1GVjOrc This trailer promises everything you want from a Mad Max movie. Desert-based action; this trailer suggests the film has it in spades. A sense of post-apocalyptic epic-ness; the trailer presents a terrifying wilderness with monstrous Reaver-like hordes ready to hunt you down. The trailer doesn't show much of the lead man himself - there's only a shadowy figure in the desert at the beginning and Tom Hardy€™s reveal at the end - but then this is why this is a teaser trailer. By the end of the two and a half minutes audiences are excited to see the film and have instantly forgotten the question of whether Hardy will make a good Max. One of the most visually stunning and intriguing movie trailers to close off the year, and that is against some stiff competition from other big movie trailers on this list.
