10 Movie Trailers That Ruled 2014

6. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

After the First World War and the Battle of New York where do you take Captain America next? The first trailer released in 2013 suggested something entirely new; a modern day political thriller which took the story of Steve Rogers far beyond the obvious €™adapting to the modern world€™ theme. Adding in the appearance of the Winter Soldier, fans were already excited for the sequel, but the second trailer, released a couple of months before the film was released, raised those excitement levels higher. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SlILk2WMTI Virtually missing from the first trailer, this second one taps straight into the mystery and anticipation of who the Winter Soldier is, before exploring the morals of right and wrong, the role of SHIELD and teasing the death of Nick Fury himself. Most interesting is the idea of SHIELD turning against itself and Cap, hellcarriers fighting each other, one crashing into what was later discovered to be the Triskelion. The clues to the plot of the film are all there but delivered in such a way that it teases rather than tells us what is going to happen. Capturing the mood of the film, the second trailer for Captain America 2 promised great things and thankfully it was great things fans got; Cap 2 is possibly the best Marvel movie to date.
