1. The New Ghostbusters Film Is Going To Be A Reboot; Will Feature An All-Female Cast
Yes, there's going to be a new Ghostbusters film, and no, it won't feature Bill Murray or Dan Aykroyd, and - generally speaking - will have very little to do with the original films, save for the premise. Which is that there are a bunch of people who bust ghosts for a living. Oh, and this time they're going to be female. Director Paul Feig spoke out about the new movie, explaining that it would of the reboot variety:
"I thought, well, what if we just make it new? Its not coming into the world that existed before. Its always hard if the world has gone through this big ghost attack, how do you do it again? I wanted to come into our world where theres talk of ghosts but theyre not really credible, and so what would happen in our world if this happened today. Everything is up for grabs right now. I look at this the same way a superhero movie launches where its always fun to see, like, what are they going to do with the costumes this time? What are they going to do with the hardware this time? Its not going to be, here is the exact same stuff. Its also not going to go, screw you if you like that stuff, its all completely different.
Fair enough, we say. Who you gonna call? Some, uh, girls, apparently! All this news in the space of a single week? It's absolutely crazy! Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
