7. There Won't Be Any "Punching" In Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Sandman Movie, For Some Reason
In case you forgot, Joseph Gordon-Levitt recently tasked himself with adapting Neil Gaiman's incredibly complex and densely written Sandman comic book series. When asked how it was coming along in a brief red carpet interview with MTV, Gordon-Levitt revealed that things were "slow but steady," given the head-spinning nature of the material. And then he dropped a bombshell with regards to his movie's take on "punching." That's to say, there isn't going to be a whole lot of it, apparently. Here's what he had to say:
"Big spectacular action movies are generally about crime fighters fighting crime and blowing sh-t up. This has nothing to do with that, and it was actually one of the things that Neil Gaiman said to me, he said Dont have any punching. Because he never does. If you read the comics, Morpheus doesnt punch anybody. Thats not what he does. Its going to be like a grand spectacular action film, but that relies on none of those same old ordinary cliches. So, thats why its taking a lot time to write, but its going to be really good."
Well, that's all well and good, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but you totally just lost the teenage boy demographic with those comments.
