3. New Frankenstein Movie In The Works

Deadline has reported that a new, contemporary version of Mary Shelly's classic Frankenstein is to be filmed. Rather than having to go through the boring wait of waiting for casting choices to slowly trickle out, much of the main cast has already been revealed. Xavier Samuel (of Twilight fame) will be playing the Monster itself, with Danny Huston and Carrie-Anne Moss to play Victor and Elizabeth Frankenstein respectively. Plot details are presently scarce, but with the film being touted as a contemporary version of the classic tale, the story is said to take place in present-day Los Angeles. In addition to the above, the film is to be directed by Bernard Rose who, if you don't recognise the name, also directed the Candyman films. How well the story of Frankenstein will transition to a modern-day setting remains to be seen, but if it's done well, it could be great - especially if they take the route of giving the birth of the Monster a more scientifically grounded origin.
