9. Jafar - Aladdin
Although Aladdin's arch-enemy, Jafar, is a powerful sorcerer, his greatest weapon is his mind. He effortlessly manipulates everyone around him to do his bidding, including the Sultan, the guards, and our titular hero. As such, Jafar is often perceived not just as one of the evilest Disney villains, but also among the cleverest.
Well... most of the time. Jafar repeatedly shows that he's able to hypnotise the Sultan with his snake staff. So, why the heck doesn't he use it on Jasmine? If Jafar is desperate to marry the princess, how come the wicked warlock doesn't brainwash her to fall in love with him?
But that's not all. When Aladdin enters the palace under the guise of Ali Ababwa, it jeopardises Jafar's plans to woo the princess and take over Agrabah. And yet, it never occurs to the royal vizier to use the sceptre to convince Aladdin to leave.
This plothole is more annoying since Jafar uses the staff to enchant the Sultan... while he's standing beside Jasmine and Aladdin! If Jafar had any common sense, he could've gotten everything he ever desired with ease.
