10 Movie Villains That Upstaged Other Villains

5. X-24 - Logan

Not only was Logan the swansong of Hugh Jackman's portrayal of the titular character - at least before returning for Deadpool & Wolverine - it was the first R-rated movie in Fox's main X-Men franchise and completely different from anything that had come before it. Logan was both unique and outstanding.

The villain? Not so much. In spite of essentially being responsible for the near-extinction of mutant-kind on the planet, and being portrayed by the ever-brilliant Richard E. Grant, Zander Rice just never popped off the screen. The story was about Logan, and it felt as though there wasn't a huge amount of thought put into its antagonist.

Even if there had been, Rice was outshone by his creation, X-24. No one was ever going to remember or care about Zander Rice once Wolverine's clone, X-24, was introduced, killing Professor X (Sir Patrick Stewart) in one of the most harrowing scenes of the entire movie.

This isn't the only time Fox pulled the rug from under an X-Men villain with a cameo appearance. Eddie Marsan's Headmaster is completely forgettable in Deadpool 2, particularly when next to the initial villain that was Cable (Josh Brolin), and the huge reveal of a comic book-accurate, Ryan-Reynolds-voiced Juggernaut.
