10 Movie Villains With Insanely Ironic Deaths
1. Thanos - Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Thanos first appeared in The Avengers in 2012, and went on to become the main antagonist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His primary quest throughout all the films was to locate and collect all six of the Infinity Stones in order to harness their power by wearing them in the Infinity Gauntlet, which he had crafted by the Nidavellir Dwarves.
The completed Gauntlet would make him all powerful, and give him the ability to erase half of all living things in the universe with a snap, which he claimed would solve the problems of overpopulation.
In Avengers Infinity War, he finally manages to obtain all the stones after sacrificing his daughter Gamora, threatening to kill Tony Stark, and ripping the final stone out of Vision’s head. His gauntlet complete, he snaps his fingers and half of all life disappears, with several of The Avengers turning to dust.
In Avengers Endgame, following some complicated time travel, it looks like all is lost when Thanos manages to overpower Captain Marvel and retrieve the gauntlet back from her.
Unbeknownst to him, Tony Stark had taken the stones from it, and put them in another gauntlet he had created with Bruce Banner and Rocket Racoon. Stark snaps his fingers and turns Thanos to dust, ironically killing the Titan with a method he invented.
