Denis Nedry was the main computer programmer at Jurassic Park. Due to financial problems, he accepted a $1.5 million bribe from genetics company Biosyn to smuggle fifteen dinosaur embryos off the island, in order from them to steal the concepts and ideas from John Hammond.

Nedry deactivates the park’s security system to gain access to the cold storage room, where he collects the embryos and attempts to escape the visitor centre in a Jeep Wrangler, travelling to the East Dock to get his pay.

However, he also inadvertently deactivates the enclosure electric fences, allowing several dinosaurs including the Tyrannosaurus Rex to escape.

While trying to deliver the embryos, he becomes lost in the rainy night and crashes his Jeep into a tree. Attempting to unravel the car tow to pull it out of the mud, he slips and is stalked by a Dilophosaurus, ironically one of the creatures he had accidentally released.

After stalking him from a distance, it eventually sprays him with venom. He crawls away and manages to get back in the Jeep, before realising it is now in the passenger seat, just before the creature proceeds to eat him alive.
