10 Movie Weddings That Were More Like The Real Deal

6. Sex And The City

Four years after the show's televised run concluded, New Line Cinema brought Sex and the City to the big screen for an epic three hour film. In keeping with the material's tradition, one of its major plot points featured Carrie Bradshaw and her often disastrous attempts to win herself love in the big city. At this point in the story however, Carrie has finally settled on the man she wants, and the film opens with her potential nuptials to the infamous Mr. Big (Chris Noth) being openly discussed. It serves as no surprise however that nothing goes the way that the film's heroine envisions. Despite the fact that his fiance has poured her heart into a lavish dream wedding, Mr. Big gets cold feet at the last minute (thanks to some inopportune advice from Cynthia Nixon's Miranda), which throws Carrie into an emotional tail spin. Now, the correlations between the cinematic and the real world are obvious, as there have been probably countless marriages where a bride or groom's reticence threatened to derail the entire day. Of course, in the real world it is more questionable if things will end happily ever after, which is the entirely expected outcome of Sex in the City's epic big-screen debut.
