10 Movies Based On Books That Should've NEVER Been Made
1. Cat In The Hat
Dr Seuss' Cat In The Hat film has been described as one of the most weirdest and most controversial book movies of all time. The original novella was released in 1957 and the film many years after in 2003 starring Mike Myers as the human feline.
Critics were overall confused with the style of the plot itself however there were other behind the scenes issues that should have caused the production to cease going ahead in the first place. Myers was known for hating every second he was on set after being contractually obliged by DreamWorks to be playing the character due to the success of Austin Powers. Many cast and crew members recall his interactions and overall experience as rude.
Seuss' wife didn't want the part to go to him in the first place and, after seeing the film, banned any future live action Seuss adaptations. In many countries, parts of the film are either banned or scenes and lines have been cut for wide TV release, due to the excessive use of adult themes and content that flew over childrens' heads in the audience.
