10 Movies Fans Want To See That Marvel Studios Won't Make

8. Nick Fury

Captain Britain
Marvel Studios

Nick Fury has been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe from the very start when he showed up in Iron Man's surprise post-credits scene to tell Tony Stark about the Avengers Initiative. Since then, he's had a recurring presence in this shared world, playing a role in everything from Captain America: The Winter Soldier to Spider-Man: Far From Home.

While Fury is certainly effective as a supporting character, fans have never been given the opportunity to get to know him beyond anything other than the surface level. What makes the former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director tick and what does he get up to when he's not steering Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the right direction?

That's something Captain Marvel very briefly addressed, but it left fans anxious for a solo movie starring the character (especially after it became clear VFX could successfully de-age the 71-year-old Samuel L. Jackson). Unfortunately, with no sign of that in Phase 4, it seems the moment has passed, and the best moviegoers can now hope for is a return in Captain Marvel 2.
