10 Movies Finally Coming To Blu-Ray In 2014

1. The Big Red One

Original Release Date: 1980 Blu-Ray Release Date: May 16th, 2014 Plot: The story of a sergeant and the inner core members of his unit as they try to serve in and survive World War II. (IMDB) Why It Deserves A Blu-Ray Release: Two words: Samuel Fuller. The man has written and directed some of the coolest American films ever put on celluloid. The Big Red One happens to be one of the most overlooked war films and it's a shame because it certainly packs a punch. Samuel Fuller was a soldier in World War II (and was even awarded a Purple Heart) and brings many of the lessons he learned in wartime to this film. He cares more about the soldiers than the war itself, which makes it more of a personal movie. If you loved Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers, you really need to check out The Big Red One.
