5. Kidnap
Release Date: May 13, 2016 Picture Taken, only instead of Liam Neeson, you've got... Halle Berry. That appears to be the idea that a desperate screenwriter pitched to an intoxicated Hollywood executive in order for Kidnap to fumble its way into existence. And as is almost always the case with movies starring Halle Berry in this modern era, this film is going to be a load of ol' codswallop, destined for a place at the bottom of a bargain bin somewhere. Who is a film like this made for, exactly? Who rushes out to see an action movie with Halle Berry playing a panicked mom trying to find her kid? Surely the producers know that it's going to end in financial disaster when they commit to something of this sort? Especially when you hire an inexperienced director to helm the thing - and zero movie stars. Kidnap is destined to be a commercial flop, then, but - given that it stars Berry, who hasn't played the lead in a "fresh" film since, oh, 2007 - it's likely set for a critical mauling, too.
