10 Movies From 2017 That Really Shouldn’t Have Been Boring
8. Kingsman: The Golden Circle
Even if you hated the original Kingsman movie, it's practically impossible to describe it as boring. Sadly, the much-anticipated follow-up succumbs head-over-heels to Bloated Sequel Syndrome, and is a shocking chore to watch at times.
Though it would be silly to claim that there aren't enjoyable moments throughout the movie, they're more often than not suffocated underneath Matthew Vaughn's wanton excess, which suggests Fox gave him carte blanche to do anything he wanted.
The end result is a painfully overlong 141-minute action film with a number of snooze-inducing subplots (did Eggsy really need to go to Glastonbury?), jokes dragged out to the point that they're no longer funny (Elton John), and a cast that's weirdly squandered for the most part (especially Channing Tatum).
So unbearably self-indulgent is the film at times that it's almost enough to swear one off a third film. But seriously, no movie featuring this much stylish violence should feel this monotonous, hollow, and stamina-draining.
