Based on Jo Nesbo's acclaimed novel, 2011's Headhunters is the highest grossing Norwegian film of all time.

While production of the remake has been ongoing since 2011 - as the Norwegian original was in the closing stages of its own production - the project has seen numerous changes over the years, with Mark Wahlberg originally attributed with the early attempts to bring it to fruition.

The film is set to be distributed by Summit Entertainment if it's ever made, with Morten Tyldum the most recently attached director.

There's a chance Headhunters will end up as a TV series instead of a feature film remake, as Tyldum is reportedly considering both options. The film's production studio Yellow Bird previously shopped a TV adaptation to HBO in 2013, but was unsuccessful.

It's unsure whether this one will ever end up on our screens in any form given its long troubled development.

Chances are I’m watching a movie or replaying Mass Effect rather than doing anything productive.
