2. A Prophet

This 2009 French crime film was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2010 Academy Awards, won the BAFTA for Best Film Not in the English Language, nine Cesar awards and the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival when it premiered. Naturally, Hollywood would want to remake it.

Original Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi is attached to the remake and it is proposed to be written by acclaimed crime author Dennis Lehane. A Prophet's original director Jacques Audiard has stated he has no interest in a remake of his film.

Word on the production of this remake has been quiet since 2016, but in 2017 there were reports surrounding Raimi's desire to court Michael B. Jordan and Josh Brolin for roles in the film. No updates have been given as of yet as to either of these acquisitions.
