10 Movies Heroes You Didn't Realise Were Probably Psychopaths
2. James Bond - Skyfall
To be fair, it's easy to notice that Daniel Craig's version of James Bond in Skyfall definitely had some inner demons to work out. In the movie, Bond survives a near-death experience and spends months in isolation, hidden away from MI6. He purposefully kept his death secret in order to retire, which should have been the first red flag that something was not right with his head. After all, this British spy has had enough physical and emotional trauma to put a Greek poem to shame, but he soldiers on in order to save MI6 from terrorist attacks centered around M, played by Judy Dench. Why He's A Psychopath: Throughout the whole movie, Bond is clearly unhinged. He fails his exams and breaks protocol as always, but we don't notice because we have grown accustomed to watching James Bond break the rules for the larger good. What makes Skyfall special, however, is that this is one of the few Bond movies where his character is explored outside of the spy life. While being chased by the villain Silva, Bond and M have to escape to somewhere remote. Bond chooses his childhood home. Of all places, Bond chooses to visit the place holding his most haunting memories. It's subtle, but you can see that Bond is having trouble letting go of the past. The worst part is that he selfishly wanted to solve his own problems instead of escaping to a place with supplies and resources that would have actually saved M's life. Also: who just walks into a shower with a beautiful woman already in it and just expect her not to freak out? Sure, it worked for him, but it takes a bold psychopath to make these kinds of assumptions.
