10 Movies Heroes You Didn't Realise Were Probably Psychopaths

7. Hitch - Hitch

Alex "Hitch" Hitchens is a mild-mannered dating consultant played by Will Smith. In this romantic comedy, Hitch educates hapless men who want nothing more than to manipulate women into sleeping with them. Funny stuff. Don't get me (or him) wrong, though. He explicitly states that he only works with clients who actually like women, not jerks who just want to get laid. What always interested me more, however, was the character of Hitch himself and why he did this for a living. Sure, teaching men how to not get blue balls is a great thing to put on a resume, and people paid him a ton of money to get his advice. But we learn later on that Hitch does this because he was once emotionally abused by a woman he once loved. You know, in college. Why He's A Psychopath: Toward the end of the movie, Hitch basically admits that he doesn't really do anything, and there aren't any real secrets behind dating. Wait, so then why are you charging people tons of money if you're not actually doing anything? He doesn't even mention this, and there is no indication that he stops being the "date doctor." If he did that, what would he even do for a living? So in the end, the guy basically admits that he cons shy guys who want to get out of the friend zone into paying him a ton of money only for them to end up just "being themselves."
