10 Movies Heroes You Didn't Realise Were Probably Psychopaths
8. Cameron Poe - Con Air
This was probably the first movie I ever saw Nicolas Cage in, so my rose-tinted glasses work in full effect whenever I think of Cameron Poe's relentless efforts to save his daughter's... uh, stuffed bunny. It's easy for us to sympathize with Poe's story. He protected his pregnant wife from a drunk idiot in a bar thanks to his awesome Army training, but he's thrown in jail for excessive violence. However, he doesn't lose hope, and neither do we, as he spends his days in jail, pining to see his wife and child. When the time finally comes for him to get parole and be reunited with his estranged loved ones, he is put on a plane with a group of other criminals. Chaos breaks out when we find out that the criminals have planned to hijack the plane and link up with a drug dealer in the desert, and Poe is stuck in the middle of it. Why He's A Psychopath: From there, Poe embarks on a quest to do exactly what he is thrown in jail for: excessive violence. Every decision he makes results in him either needlessly killing someone or thwarting the efforts of an undercover cop who would have fixed everything. In other words, Poe is clearly addicted to violence, as evidenced by his ability to shake off a bullet in the arm for the sake of a stuffed bunny.
