10 Movies Interrupted By Horrific Violence In The Cinema

1. The Dark Knight Rises

The most infamous movie theatre shooting of all time took place in Aurora, Colorado at a midnight screening of Christopher Nolan's final installment of his Dark Knight trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises. Dressed as the Joker, James Holmes entered the auditorium and, after throwing cannisters of tear gas into the audience, proceeded to gun down and kill 12 people using a variety of firearms. An additional 70 people were injured before police arrested him shortly after the attack. Conspiracy theories suggesting he was a victim of mind control soon did the rounds on the internet - these were overshadowed by more Dark Knight Rises-related theories a few months later, when the Sandy Hook shootings were said to have been foreshadowed by a map featuring the same name in Nolan's movie. What other movies have been interrupted by horrific acts of violence? Why not let us know in the comments below?
