10 Movies Interrupted By Horrific Violence In The Cinema

2. The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button

Most people who have seen David Fincher's overlong, overblown The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button were more likely to have experienced feelings of boredom and sleepiness rather than anger and rage. The same can't be said for James Cialella when he went to see it in a theatre in Philadelphia. Having told and man with his wife and son to keep the noise down during the screening, Cialella got into a physical altercation with the father before pulling out his gun and shooting him. Fortunately the man survived, and Cialella was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. The incident took place on Christmas Day, and surprisingly Cialella - an Iraq War veteran - was only sentenced to house arrest followed by a period of probation. To say that he got off lightly would perhaps be an understatement.
